City on a Hill will be a family, very relational. A body of many members, and a place where people find their function completely different from the religious pattern. We have a desire to model the New Testament Chuch as seen in the Book of Acts in Paul's writings.
For years, all the burden has been placed on the pastor. This is why the message has fallen short and people have left unfulfilled.
We believe The Body is made of Lively Stones, which are YOU. You each have a vital role to play in this family.
We envision core groups such as Armour Bearers, Elders, Men's and Women's Ministries, and a vibrant, active Youth Ministry.
We are not trying to get Tazewell County to the Kingdom; we are taking the Kingdom to Tazewell County through outreaches and ministry programs that display the love of God to a hurting world.
No longer will will curse the darkness, but we will shine a light of hope to every dark place we find, and above all, lift of the name of Jesus!
We DESIRE, CRAVE, and EXPECT vibrant worship services where there is liberty, not only to receive, but to give. We desire for the passion of the Lord to be showcased every time we gather. That means NO "DEAD" SERVICES! We will not be a dysfunctional church family. We will be a family of faith, hope, and love that celebrates with people in their victories and cares for people in their struggles. Above all, we will lift up the name of Jesus!
